Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will it take for you to design me a logo?
A: Each logo is delivered in up to 7 working days, usually less than that.

Q: Do you use any logo templates during the design process?
A: No, every logo design is unique and made from scratch. Here and there you may find logos with some clipart elements (also produced by us, we also create clipart and run a popular vector clipart site) but those are either our or our friends' site logos (therefore logos designed for non-paying customers). Paying customers always get unique logos.

Q: I'm not satisfied with the logo that you sent me. Can I get my money back?
A: No, because we already spent some time working on it. We hope you find that fair.

Q: I'm not satisfied with the logo that you sent me! I described in the questionnaire what I wanted but you sent me a completely different thing!
A: 19dollarlogos isn't a classic logo design service where you describe exactly what you want. We reserve the right to completely overlook your guidelines (except for the colors, dimensions, proportions and such which we strictly follow). Especially if illustrations are involved (some people think that our site would be a good place to get detailed custom vector illustration for next to nothing; nope, we charge 3 digit amounts for these like anyone else).

Q: I ordered my logo, 7 days have passed and I haven't received anything!
A: Your questionnaire got lost or you forgot to send it. Usually we notice orders with a missing questionnaire and ask for it but sometimes we miss it - in this case you should contact us and either (re)send the questionnaire or request a full refund (which will be accepted without objections or questions asked).

Q: What file formats are exactly delivered in the package?
A: Each logo is delivered in the following formats:

Web Resolution Version: This is for instant web use (web site, email, banner ad, blog, myspace page etc). It's transparent PNG file that will match any background. You can request exact dimensions and specify background color or submit a pattern and use the logo easily as soon as we send it to you.

Printer Friendly Version: A high resolution CMYK bitmap graphic on a white background so that you can use it with any graphics software or word processor including MS Word.

High Resolution PSD Version: A layered high resolution PSD file on a transparent background. You can edit it with Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks, change colors, test various backgrounds, add text, add effects, add more design elements, resize it and export to any other format

Vectors: We even deliver vector elements of your logo, at no additional cost. They are all in EPS vector file format. You can edit them with vector-based applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Macromedia Freehand. These are actually all that you or a designer that you'd eventually hire would ever need, the core of our logo design. Most of our logos are 100% vectors.

Q: Why do the quality of logos in your portfolio vary? Some aren't that great!
A: In many cases it's the customers' demands that prevented us with coming up with something better. For example, if your site's name is "Something-Something-Something.abc" and you lock logo proportions to 1:2, you put us in trouble because 1:2 doesn't give us enough room to put everything in one line and you usually cannot properly break down such text to 2-3 lines etc. Also, sometimes we are simply inspired less than usual, like any other artist.

Q: What if I loose the original logo files?

A: You can always contact us and ask us to resend them to you, at no additional cost.

Q: I already have a logo but I need it polished and/or vectorized. Do you provide such services?
A: Yes, let's see what you have and we'll let you know if it can be vectorized and at what price. Sometimes it fits in $19, sometimes it's more than that.

Q: Do you provide other design services such as banners, sites, ads etc?
A: Yes, but if we design logos for $19 don't expect that a whole site will cost $50 or $100. Our hourly rate is $35 and we have our reasons to charge less when it comes to logos. We are very efficient though, so a site could cost you $50-$100 if it's simple enough, if your instructions are clear and if you know what you want. Let us know what you need and we'll give you an estimated cost.

Q: I have another question not covered by this FAQ.
A: Don't hesitate to ask!
